For the past two years, I've been working with children in home based settings and school settings, where I've had the opportunity to step in and provide assistance with homework, as Algebra and advanced levels of Algebra. In home based settings, I explain concepts that are not yet mastered, by the client, in further detail and create different teaching techniques that are best suited for the clients needs. I am also mindful of the varies ways in which clients' learn, whether they are auditory learners or visual learners, and implement that knowledge throughout my teaching. For example, if a client is a visual learner I use visual stimulus to help explain the concepts. The most joyful part of helping children with their academic studies is when a concept is grasped, by the student; the patience and determination pays off.

I have extensive experience as a tutor. I also have a year of experience tutoring middle school children with homework help, and recently started working with as a private instructor in a variety of subjects including but not limited to reading comprehension, grammar and mechanics, history, A.P. courses and test prep, and SAT, ACT, and ISEE prep.

Beyond substitute teaching, of which I have 5+ years’ experience, I've tutored periodically for nearly 10 years in Algebra. As a Sophomore at Northeastern, I began tutoring in Algebra, and continued on until graduation. The scope of material I tutored would grow from introductory Math courses like Algebra and Geometry, to Trigonometry, eventually including advanced Mathematics. Since then I've tutored family and friends in a variety of topics over the past 5 years, primarily in math. This includes keeping my 3 little sisters ahead of the curve from kindergarten through now 8th grade math, throwing lifelines to my friends' kids before tests, and prepping friends themselves prior to the ASVAB. In addition to tutoring at Northeastern, I worked as a Teacher's Assistant for numerous classes as well, and will be substitute teaching again for LAUSD shortly.
